What an inspiring afternoon for World of Words as the author C.J. Delahay was our guest at Cwmclydach Primary School. The esteemed writer gave up her valuable time to travel from Barry, speak to years 5 and 6, take a multitude of questions and then give four free copies of her books. We are so grateful and it is a big thanks to our acclaimed visitor.
C.J. – Chris instilled confidence among the group to go and experiment with words and create their own works of fiction. She said an idea sprung into her mind for a magical story about a character – Misty Morgan – who has since become the central force of two completed books and a third on the way. These works are available on Amazon and the responses of the children today indicate that there will be interest in these well-written novels aimed for 9 years and up. Cheers Chris for all of your help and congratulations to the young audience for their range of queries!
From there it was a WOW class and today we concentrated on poems written around the themes of our valleys – its villages and landmarks. The group then attempted their own Rhondda rhymes. Well done all!
