World of Words – WOW was delighted to arrange for the visit of acclaimed author Claire Fayers to Cwmclydach Primary School. Claire read from her book Welsh Giants, Ghosts & Goblins and an attentive audience were on their best behaviour. Many great questions came from the floor and an interactive session further lit up proceedings.
Claire kindly gave out resources to enable drawing and writing to ensue. The children were very imaginative via portraits of their own gobilns with some inventive details on the reverse about the personalities of their creations.
It was another win for WOW and a coup for Cwm. All in all Claire was a success and it is many thanks to her for a journey from Mid Wales to entertain the kids of Clydach Vale.
Later on a shortened WOW class united years 5 and 6 for a focus on word development and this occasion displayed a lot of focus from the bigger gathering. Well done all!
