It is many thanks to historian and writer Phil Rowlands who joined World of Words at Cwmclydach Primary School. Phil offered a splendid talk on the locality led by the main topic of the 1905 Cambrian Colliery explosion which sadly accounted for 33 lives and other injuries.
Phil was genial with his delivery and a large group of primary children were attentive, inquisitive and well-behaved.
Congratulations to the new breed of Clydach Vale who learnt a lot about a brave, hard working, yesteryear population that showed so much strength and resolve in the face of adversity.
