Lee Barrett is a former pupil of Cwmclydach Primary School and via an invite from World of Words – WOW he returned to his former juniors. Lee chatted about his career as a train driver which has then led to him becoming an instructor and manager within Transport For Wales.

The presentation was first class and the children had a roster of interesting and probing questions which covered so many aspects of the world of railways. The new electrification of valleys services was a hot topic as were the dangers of the lines. The process of driving and new demands associated arose in the discussion as did shift patterns, routes, safety and a whole host of other points of interest. Lee was a great guest and the Years 5 and 6 children were an amazing audience with their thirst for knowledge. It was a productive afternoon and it is many thanks to Lee for his display and a round of applause to the youngsters for their lively input. This visit was another success for WOW i.e. www.worldofwords.education and followed on nicely from driving instructor and trainer, Rob Ivin, earlier in the month.
