World of Words was delighted to welcome our friend – the author and illustrator – C.J. Delahay (Chris) to Cwmclydach Primary School. Chris has recently released the 3rd book of a trilogy – entitled ‘Misty Morgan – Witch of Elphame’.
She talked about the skills of storywriting and how the children can go about it with an idea and the freedom to unleash the imagination whether verbally or in a written format. We were also treated to the first reading of a new poetic led tale which displayed dexterity and garnered a well-earned round of applause.
Chris kindly provided the school with another free book as she did on the last visit and offered the young writers a chance to win her latest novel by submitting some writing which she will assess to decide a favourite.
It was another successful WOW led visit and it is many thanks to Chris who gave up valuable time to travel from Barry and deliver a memorable afternoon.
